The Red Sky Plumbing van on a bluff above Cochrane, Alberta at sunset, the Rocky Mountains on the horizon.

You won't be left chasing me.

Property managers and business owners don't lose sleep over the price of a drain snake. They lose sleep over the contractor who doesn't call back, doesn't show, and doesn't write anything down — while a tenant waits and a restroom stays closed.

Fast response, clear communication, clean execution, and a written record of what was found and what was done. That's the entire offer.

Above the line

"We bought a house in March and knew we needed a new hot water tank and sump pump put in… While he was here, John also noted that our toilet had a large crack in it that the home inspector didn't even notice! We were nervous about the cost of all of this but it was actually way more reasonably priced than we expected."

The inspector
walked past it.

A cracked toilet is a slow flood with a date on it. It got found because somebody who has actually plumbed a house was standing in the room — not because it appeared on a checklist.

That's the whole job. Not selling you a system. Telling you what is genuinely there, and what it costs, before anybody starts.

"John from Red Sky Plumbing did a fantastic job fixing the issue of my basement toilet not flushing. He found the cause in the pipe and rectified it quickly. John is very professional and friendly. Will call on him again if I have any further issues with the plumbing."

Found the cause.
Not the symptom.

Anybody can plunge a toilet. The camera goes down the line and shows you the root, the grease, the sag in the grade — the reason it happens again in March if nobody touches it.

Five stars, thirty-two times over, in our first year.

What we findResidential & commercial

Drain & Sewer

Cleaning · Repair

Clogged toilets and slow drains through to full sewer backups — cleared fast, cleanly, with transparent upfront pricing. Roots, collapse or grade: we tell you which one it is.

Camera & Locating

High resolution · No guesswork

High-resolution sewer cameras and precision line locating. We diagnose what's happening underground without opening anything. An ounce of prevention, as they say.

Acreage & rural

Past the town limits the line doesn't run to the city — it runs to a field. Septic service, diagnosis and repair across Rocky View County.

Gasfitting

Ticketed Class B

Ranges, furnaces, hot water, garage heaters, barbecue and fire-table lines. A separate ticket from plumbing — and not every plumber holds one.

Fixtures · Tanks · Sump pumps

If it moves water or waste, we install it, repair it, or replace it — properly, safely, and to code.

Inspections

Home · New buyer · Real estate · Insurance

Buying, selling, renewing insurance, or you just want to know. A written read on the mechanical system, drains, fixtures, water lines, tank and gas services.

Poly-BThe grey pipe behind the drywall

Nobody should be guessing at an answer this expensive.

If your Cochrane or Calgary home went up between the late 1970s and 1998, there's a good chance there's grey Poly-B behind the drywall — and your insurer may already have written to you about it.

Here's the part the ads leave out: whether it has to come out is a question about your fittings, your hot lines, and how well it was installed. That gets answered by a plumber standing in your mechanical room, not by a marketing page. We do complete Poly-B replacement — and we're paid the same either way, which is exactly why you can trust the answer.

What the Province actually says +
"The Poly-B installed in Alberta primarily used copper or brass metal insert fittings and soft copper crimping rings, not the plastic insert fittings … which are failing in some other jurisdictions."
"Alberta Municipal Affairs is aware of approximately four Poly-B failures in Alberta over the last 20 years. All were related to improper installation procedures rather than the materials." Alberta Municipal Affairs — Fact Sheet: Polybutylene (Poly-B) Pressure Water Piping

That fact sheet is roughly ten years old, and the pipe is ten years older than it was. Poly-B can also degrade from the inside, faster on hot-water lines — so this is not a promise that yours is fine.

It's a promise that we will look, tell you what we find, and put it in writing.

The plumberOne name on the truck

John. And a red sky over Cochrane.

Red Seal Certified Plumber. Ticketed Class 'B' Gasfitter. He started in new-build construction and multi-unit residential plumbing, then moved into service work to deal directly with the people who live in the buildings.

His father was a Red Seal Carpenter and a lifelong craftsman. Red Sky was built on the three things that came out of that house: quality, honesty, and respect for every customer and their home.

And on one more — water. It's the most valuable thing running through any of this, and it deserves to be treated that way.
